Dr. David Rudo Ribbond

DAVID N. RUDO, DDS, was featured on episode 46 of the Dental Digest Podcast. He is the inventor of Ribbond. Ribbond is a polyethylene fiber with a wide array of applications in dentistry. In Biomimetic Dentistry, Ribbond is often used to prevent failure of composite resin restorations. Dr. Rudo graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1961 and maintained a practice of general dentistry in Seattle, USA for over 30 years.

His research in the use of fiber reinforcement to solve the problem of structural failure of dental resin and composite resin restorations, prostheses, and appliances culminated in the development of Ribbond bondable reinforcement ribbon.

Ever since 1993, Dr. David Rudo has spent a considerable amount of his career investigating and researching in the field of fiber reinforcement technology in dentistry. This research has led to numerous evolutions and development of Ribbond.

He is renowned for his presentations at at universities in U.S. and Europe as well as presentations before numerous dental organizations including The Academy of Operative Dentistry, The American Prosthodontic Society, The Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry, The Academy of Osseointegration, and The European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
